When you think of Willie Nelson, you think about marijuana. You could argue that it is a more identifying trait about him than his music is (which is long and distinguished in itself). Considering his love and openness about marijuana, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he has recently launched a CBD brand, piggybacking off his already established line of marijuana products called Willie’s Reserve.
Piggybacking off of the success of Willie’s Reserve, which sells products that contain THC (the psychoactive compound of the marijuana plant), the new CBD-only products come in a new offshoot called Willie’s Remedy. The first product for sale is a CBD-infused coffee.
Willie Nelson’s CBD Coffee
This certainly isn’t the only product of its type to hit the market, as I have previously reviewed the CBD coffees and teas from Green Roads here (and I highly recommend checking out Green Roads coffee, they’re a much more established and trusted brand in the CBD industry – plus they have tons of products beyond just coffee), but it is the first one to put a famous name to the product. Willie is synonymous with the marijuana plant, and his stature in the cannabis world could be a catalyst for this product to outsell the market quite quickly.
The whole-bean coffee is infused with certified organic full-spectrum hemp oil grown in Colorado (just like many of the other popular CBD brands on the market).
The coffee itself is harvested internationally at small farms in the Santuario region of Colombia, which is famous for their coffee production. They’re pretty much taking the epicenters of sourcing both of these ingredients, which is the perfect formula for one effective and high-quality product.
The coffee contains three varieties of beans: Caturra, Colombia, and Castillo.
When asked to describe the coffee, the company says that it is a “medium-dark blend with balanced acidity that packs a powerful aroma, with flavor notes of cherry and cocoa.” Each serving of the brewed coffee contains 7 milligrams of USA-grown hemp, about an average dose for a normal CBD user.
Nelson describes Willie’s Remedy as a purposeful departure from the Willie’s Reserve brand. These products are not about getting high (as they do not contain THC), rather they are to bring the benefits that the cannabis plant has to offer. Nelson, as said by his wife, has a desire to “offer quality, American-sourced hemp wellness options for people of his generation, our kids’ generation, and everyone in between.”
Where to Buy
As the products do not have any THC in them, you can legally buy them in all 50 states. For $36, you can get a 12-ounce bag of coffee directly from their website here.
If you feel like CBD is coming from celebrities of all kinds lately, you’re not wrong. Just recently, former NFL player Terrell Davis announced that he is launching his own CBD-infused sports drink called Defy. Just another in a long line of celebrities who endorse the use of CBD, some of who love it so much that they got into the business themselves!
