Best Eye Cream for Men

Eye Cream for Men

As we age, we show signs of aging on our face and body. Unlike our bodies, which we can sculpt and maintain through proper nutrition and workouts (my current shredding program is here), our faces are much more prone to getting old, and staying old. Today I’ll be focusing on this topic as well as sharing my top picks as best eye cream for men.

Why Do Men Need Eye Cream?

Let’s start with the obvious – our skin ages, and it makes us look older, tired, and sometimes like we are hung over! Crow’s feet (wrinkles around the corners of our eyes) set in, as do dark under eye circles, bags, and puffiness. There is nothing worse than showing up for work looking like you were hitting a three foot bong all night when you were simply relaxing and not getting inebriated!

The skin around the eyes is more likely to become dry and fragile. This means that it will definitely show age and fatigue much faster than other skin on the body. This happens because we squint and constantly move our eyes throughout the day. Repeated motions like this cause fine lines and wrinkling. Using eye creams can help reduce the appearance.

These fine lines are also amplified by sun damage and the fact that our skin produces less collagen as we grow older. Collagen’s main mission is to help keep the skin’s elasticity intact. To boost collagen production, it’s smart to use products that feature retinol, vitamin C, and powerful peptides that are made in laboratories. Unfortunately there is no magical berry grown in a forest in Brazil that can help turn back the clock! (But there are some blogs out there that will lead you to believe that!)

Let’s talk about each symptom individually.

Signs of Aging Around Men’s Eyes

#1: Crow's Feet

These wrinkles that sprout from the corners or our eyes are generally caused by UV exposure and squinting. They can appear very deep and pronounced, making them a very tricky item to treat. Many people even use Botox to target JUST crow’s feet.

Top Ways to Prevent Crow’s Feet

  • Apply eye cream
  • Wear a hat
  • Use sunblock
  • Hydrate
  • Wear sunglasses

#2: Dark Under Eye Circles

Dark Under Eye Circles

Caused by fatigue, eye strain, dehydration, age, allergies, genetics, and even prescription drugs, these make us look unhealthy.

Top Ways to Prevent Dark Circles

  • Use an eye cream with Haloxyl
  • Get plenty of sleep
  • Hydrate
  • Apply a cold press

#3: Eye Bags

Eye Bags

Eye bags form as we age because the tissues around our eyes, even the muscles, begin to weaken. This forces fat to gather around the eyes, causing puffiness. Like dark circles, they can also be caused by a lack of sleep, fluid retention, and allergies. Other causes of eye bags include genetics and smoking.

Ways to Prevent Eye Bags

  • Use an eye product with retinol
  • Apply a cold press first thing every morning
  • Apply light pressure when you rub your eyes – never be rough on this area
  • Hydrate

#4: Puffy Eyes

Puffy Eyes

Puffiness can be caused by many factors, including many of them already mentioned. Lack of sleep, allergies, travel, excess salt, demanding travel schedule, alcohol, and medication.

Ways to Prevent Puffy Eyes

  • Use an under eye product
  • Sleep 7-9 hours each night, preferably on your back
  • Apply a cold compress
  • Use a jade roller
  • Try dry brushing
  • Hydrate

Of course, other than hydrating with plenty of water, the easiest way to combat these four signs of aging is to use the best topical eye products.
